Surrender: The Ferryman & the Flame
I was intrigued in the world, especially the mer-people and the elemental magic of the elves(?) - but all the good stuff is completely overshadowed by the ridiculous love story. From the very first time they lay eyes on each other, Kaliel and her Ferryman are breathing hard, experiencing hot flushes in weird places, and generally losing the ability to talk, walk, exist. It's a shame, because I have a feeling that the fantasy aspect would have been pretty cool.
